Ministry of Public Works Concludes 75-Day Heavy-Duty Vehicle Moratorium to Protect Road Networks and Thanks Public for Cooperation

Monrovia, Liberia: The Ministry of Public Works makes direct reference to its July 3, 2025 release placing a seventy-five day moratorium (31 July- 15 October 2025) on the movement of heavy duty vehicles with goods exceeding 25 metric tons along major corridors.

The measure, which was intended to preserve critical road networks, enhance safety, and reduce rapid deterioration caused by overloaded vehicles during the vulnerable period of the rain, has come to an end officially as of today's date.

The Ministry hereby extends appreciation to all transport operators, concessionaires, logistics firms, and the general public, for adhering strictly to this directive. It also wishes to acknowledge the enormous efforts applied by the Joint Security Network at enforcing the referenced moratorium.

The Ministry anticipates the same measure of cooporation should there arise a need, in the nearest future,  for the reinforcement of this moratorium.
