Ministry of Public Works, Finance and Development Planning Kick Off "Deep Dive Process"
- Hold a Day-long Consultative Engagement
As part of efforts to expedite the workings of various functionaries of government - aimed at accelerating the pace of the ARREST AGENDA for Inclusive Development (AAID) across all sectors - the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 held a day-long consultative engagement with the Ministry of Public Works.
The Engagement, according to Finance and Development Planning Minister Hon. Augustine Ngafuan, is the Ministry's (MFDP) way of fast tracking public bureaucracy which will ultimately spur productivity at various MACs.
"I am very happy to be here at the epicenter of delivery", Minister Ngafuan said in his opening remarks.
In a tense meeting that lasted barely eight hours, were presentations from an array of Divisions and Donor Projects at the Ministry of Public Works -to wit- Donor Aid, with emphasis on the World Bank funded Liberia Urban Resilience Project (LURP), the Infrastructure Implementation Unit (IIU), the African Development Bank funded Project Implementation Unit, as well as the National Road Fund.
The convergence of different stakeholders including the Ministry of Finance, Public Works, Road Fund, and PIUs of Donor Aid largely focused on issues, challenges, way forward and enhancing the Road Fund.
For his part, Public Works Minister Roland Layfette Giddings welcomed the initiative and extolled the Ministry of Finance and Development Planning Team headed by Minister Augustine Ngafuan for the "Deep Dive Process".
According to him, the move will bolster administrative efficiency by identifying storming blocks which sometimes pose delays in the executive of key deliverables.
Major road corridors were highlighted as regards the status of these road projects, as well as those pending.
