rewrite title: Public Works, Conservation International Hold Joint Capacity-Building Program on Green-Gray Infrastructure -Underscore importance of Climate-Resilience in Liberia

The Ministry of Public Works and Conservation International on Wednesday, September 30, 2026 held a virtual capacity building training geared towards strengthening Liberia Ministry of Public Works’ capacity to integrate Green-Gray Infrastructure (GGI) and Nature-based Solutions (NbS) into national infrastructure planning, design, and decision-making.

The Training convened major actors including Public Works Minister Roland Layfette Giddings who delivered a towering opening comment, as well as sectoral experts from Conservation International and Public Works.

As an introductory capacity-building program, the training created a shared baseline on climate-resilient infrastructure planning and design across the Ministry’s departments and partner organizations.

Th program seeks to provide a structured space for participating institutions to exchange perspectives, connect the training content to Liberia’s infrastructure priorities, and identify practical areas for future collaboration.

With support from the Ministry of Public Works and Conservation International Liberia, the program is designed by Conservation International’s Center for Oceans, Green-Gray Infrastructure team, through the Global Green-Gray Community of Practice, thereby integrating national infrastructure priorities, current projects, and the key climate resilience challenges identified through previous discussions.
